Word for the Day: The Lord Is My Shelter From The Storm (Psalm 91:1-4)

“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.  For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.  He will cover you with his feathers.  He will shelter you with his wings.  His faithful promises are your armor and protection.” (Psalm 91:1-4 NLT)

When you abide in God’s presence and you put your trust in Him, the Lord promises to be a shelter from any storm or danger, a strong place where God will defend us and protect us.  As an example, He is like a hen that gathers her chicks under her wings (Matthew 23:37) to protect them.

You may be going through or experiencing some type of storm now, whether it’s physical, mental health storm, financial storm, or spiritual storm.  But when you are in God’s presence (His shelter), you trust in who God is and what He has promised.  And you won’t be moved by what you see around you.  When God promises you something, KNOW that He WILL do it, no matter if the circumstances or situation around you says the opposite.  When God promises to be your Protector, you may go through the storm, but know that you will reach to the other side.

Sometimes we expect God to do something a certain way.  But we can limit God by our way of thinking.  God’s ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts according to Isaiah 55:9.  Just trust Him in what He has told you and shown you, hold onto His promises and let God navigate you through the storm by the Holy Spirit for you to get to the other side.
