What you decide to do with the stimulus check will determine if the stimulus check will work for you, or you will continue to work for it.

Today, in our world, things have changed so rapidly.  I never thought I would see people isolate themselves, and walk around with masks and gloves.  Many people are still unemployed or working less hours, and to stimulate the economy, the government is giving money.  So far they have given 3 stimulus checks in the attempt to jumpstart the economy.  There is more fear than faith in the world and unfortunately in the church.  But God responds to faith and not fear.

The next statement I’m going to say is truth but some people may not agree.  If you are dependent on someone (ie-person, government, job) to give you money, you will be dependent on them for everything.  They will be able to control you and dictate to you how you live, where you live, what car you buy and what clothes you wear, etc.  This is the world’s economy.

I shared in a previous blog what the facts say or world says what you should do with your stimulus check.  Now I will discuss what faith says, what the word of God says to do with the stimulus check.  (I have attached below the link to that blog).

Word of God

As a Christian, you surrender your life to Jesus Christ.  That means you surrender all, including your finances.  I would rather have the Lord be in control of my life than anyone or anything else.

God’s word talks about God’s economy, which says God is our provider, Jesus is our source of life and Holy Spirit is our resource.  When you have a relationship with God, you communicate to Him about everything, including finances.  God gave us the Bible as the instruction manual and it talks about the importance of giving, sowing and reaping.

Scriptures on Giving
Giving:

“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom.  For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” (Luke 6:38 NKJV)

Tithe and Offering:

“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the LORD of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you [such] blessing That [there will] not [be room] enough [to receive it.]” (Malachi 3:10 NKJV)

Sowing Seed:

In Genesis 8:22, it says, as long as the earth remains, there will always be seedtime and harvest.

“The seed that fell on good soil represents those who truly hear and understand God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!” (Matthew13:23 NLT)

“Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have [sown] and increase the fruits of your righteousness.”  (2 Corinthians 9:10 NKJV)

What To Do With the Stimulus Check

First step is to pray about your finances.  God will give you wisdom with monies when you include Him in it.  He will direct you what to give and where to give.  You just don’t give anywhere.  That means He will tell you what to give from your stimulus check, as tithe and offering, and seed to sow.  If you ask, He will tell you what to do with it, but are you willing to be obedient and do it?

I believe in giving and I do this through tithe and offering, and sowing seed. I give in my church where I know God directed me.  These scriptures I shared are only a few of many God has given us.  God talked about money more than you think, but do you believe they are for you today?  When the Holy Spirit reveals the scripture to you, where it becomes a part of you, you will grab hold of it and not let it go.  That’s what happened to me.

Money Works For You

At my church, I heard a statement that has remained in my spirit.  It was said by Bishop Hugh Thomas, “Money works for you, and you never work for money.”  That statement has stuck with me and it resonated in my spirit.

That stimulus check will not sustain you, but it makes you dependent on who gave it to you.  But when you give what God wants you to give from that check, expect to get a return.  There are probably many people saying, I can’t give anything because I have all these bills due.  I thought as you did, until I read and studied the scriptures, and the Holy Spirit revealed the word to me on giving, and sowing seed.  This I heard and learned at my church.  This is why it’s important to know what church God wants you to be in.  Not every church is the same.  There is one God wants you to be in.

When I personally faced a financial hardship, I continued to give and I gave even more, as that was what God asked me to do.  And in that time I never lacked!  It’s the opposite of what the world would do:  to give more when you have lack or coming up short.  That’s what faith is.  God always does the opposite of what the world thinks.

Elijah and the Widow

The scriptures show several examples of how God does the opposite of the world.  Below are two examples.

Isaac sowed in the time of famine. Read Genesis Chapter 26. The specific verse reference is Genesis 26:12-14.

The other example is about the widow at Zarephath and Elijah the prophet in 1 Kings 17.  Elijah announced there will be a great drought or no rain on the land for a few years.  God directed him to go to a widow who would give him food.  The widow didn’t have much but a little flour and oil that she was going to make bread for her and her son, and then she was going to die, since she had nothing else.  Now Elijah heard and obeyed what God told him, that the widow would feed him.  He instructed the widow to first make the bread and give it to him.  And then, make the rest for herself and her son.  Elijah told her if she did that, the flour and the oil will not run out until God ended the drought and sends the rain.  This probably sounds crazy but she did what the prophet said and God provided as Elijah told her.

Elijah instructed her to first make him a bread.  That’s an important statement.  He was saying to put God first.  That reminds me of one of my favorite verses.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.  Sufficient for the day [is] its own trouble.” (Matthew 6:33-34 NKJV)

Faith

God doesn’t change.  His word is yes and amen.  When you know who is your provider, source and resource, you will look to God and not the world and not a stimulus check.  I see that check as seed.  In my eyes, I see that every dollar I give is now working on my behalf.  How do you see that check?  Where is your faith?

You have to know, that you know, that you know, what the word of God says is truth.  This is where faith comes in.  It’s a knowing and seeing in your spirit that it will happen, as it says in Hebrews 11:1.  Then, it will come to pass and you will see it in your hand.  Let that stimulus check work for you and you not work for it.  Let money work for you and you not work for money.  Ask the Lord what to give and who to give.  You may be like that widow.  Are you going to obey what God tells you to do?  Only when we are obedient, will we eat the good of the land as it says in Isaiah 1:19.
