Sales Tax Holiday: Tax Savings for Florida Residents through JUNE 6th only!


The Sales Tax Holiday has started in 2021.  If you are new to the state of Florida, you may not know this.  Every year, Florida residents have the Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday.  In 2021, it started May 28th and ends on June 6th, 2021.  This means certain items related to disaster preparedness are sales tax exempt.  This is the time to purchase these items.

Below is a brief list of items that are sales tax exempt through June 6th so get these items now:

  • Batteries, including rechargeable batteries
  • Portable light source (candles, flashlights, batteries). (Selling for $40 or less)
  • Coolers and ice chests (selling for $60 or less)
  • Reusable ice or ice packs (selling for $20 or less)
  • Radios (two-way, weather band)
  • Portable generators (selling for $1,000 or  less)
  • Gas or diesel fuel containers (selling for $50 or less)
