Ephesians 3:17 says “that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love.” (NKJV)

Who or What are you rooted and grounded in?

What I mean by rooted and grounded is this. When things happen in life, and we go through rough times whether it’s family issues, work issues, financial issues, health issues. What or who do you lean on or turn to?

To be rooted and grounded in love, is to be rooted and grounded in Jesus. When you trust Jesus, no matter what storm you face in life, you know you will go through that storm and get to the other side.

If you are on a ship and the wind is blowing and the waves are high, know that Jesus is always with you. You are not alone. You can command the storm, the situation by saying “Peace, be still!” Trust in God through your storm. Don’t fear. Have faith. So when the storm comes (and the storm will come as it says in God’s word), and when the wind blows, if your roots are deep in God’s word and you are ground in Jesus, the storm will not harm you. You will go through the storm with Jesus on the boat with you and the Holy Spirit as your navigator to guide us through the storm to get to the other side.

Jesus Calms The Storm

When Jesus went on the boat with His disciples and the storm came, this is what Jesus did.  Mark 4:39-40 (NKJV) “Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.  But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”

Jesus is looking for faith from His people. Let faith arise in you now in Jesus’ name!  Be rooted in and grounded in the love of Jesus.

Below is Ephesians 3:17-19 in the NLT version which makes it clear about the love of Jesus Christ and the love of God our Father for us.

“Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”
