Who would have thought you can earn money while you shop. Find out useful mobile apps that do truly work, and it’s doing your normal shopping online or in-store.
Rakuten.com
Go on the website and click on one of the many retail stores that are on Rakuten, such as Amazon, Nike, Apple, Macy’s, Expedia, to name just a few popular retailers. You will see at the top that Rakuten is active and you can start shopping. Once the store notifies Rakuten of your order, Cash Back will be put to your account. You receive cash on certain percentage of your purchase. The percentage varies for each retail store. At the end of the quarter, a check will be sent in the mail or money will be added to your PayPal account. You also have the option of sending your Cash Back to someone else.
Pros:
- There is no membership fee
- No limit to how much cash back you can earn, no rebate forms to mail or points to keep track of.
- You literally get a check in the mail or money added to PayPal account.
- Rakuten has a referral program. They pay you to refer Rakuten to friends. You receive a $40 referral fee, and as a great incentive, the person you referred will receive $40 when they join and spend $40.
- You can also earn cash back on in-store shopping as well. It’s a win win! Earn cash when you shop online and in-store.

Retailmenot.com
They offer free membership and when you click on one of the many retail stores that you want to shop at, then choose the cash back offer, and start shopping. The offer states the minimum amount to spend in order to get the cash back offer or 30-70% off at stores such as Amazon, Best Buy, Macy’s, etc. Cash will be deposited in your PayPal or Venmo account.
This site also offers a percentage off if you use the coupon code provided for the retail store you are shopping at. Just find the retail store you are looking to apply the coupon. Find the coupon code and copy and paste it in checkout section for the coupon code to be applied to your purchase.
I have used this site to receive cash back offers. I also have used the coupon codes and applied it to my online purchase. I did experience that not all of the coupon codes worked. However, the site tells you the percentage of which coupons were successful. No referral program was offered as of yet for them.
The good thing about these sites are if there is a brick and mortar store near you, such as Best Buy, you can also opt to pickup the product at the store near you if they have it in stock.
